How do I begin? Call me and we can discuss whether an evaluation is something that makes sense for you or your child. I am available during the week for phone consultation and will return your call, same day, typically after 4:30 pm. My number again is (202) 341-3303, and email is: dcneuropsych@icloud.com
Do you take insurance? Yes, I currently am an in-network provider for Cigna and Care First BlueCross BlueShield Insurance. If you have a different insurance carrier I will give you everything you need so that you can file a claim at the conclusion of your assessment with your own insurance carrier. If you would like to check with your insurance company to find out what your plan covers, you can give them the CPT code 96132, which is specific for "neuropsychological testing" and my tax identification number: 84-2720650. If you are a Cigna member you should also check on whether your deductible has been met for the year, but you can also send me your insurance card information and I can check for you if you need help.
How long does testing take and how much does it cost? A comprehensive evaluation takes at least a full day in-person for an adult, and 2 days in-person for a child. For child testing this typically includes a clinical interview with the parents, a clinical interview with other professionals involved in the case (ex. teachers), forms or questionnaires for parents and/or professionals to complete, additional testing with your child, a request for additional records, or other means of obtaining necessary information to complete the consultation. The costs for educational testing (ex. ruling out Specific Learning Disorders) are typically not covered by insurance, and you would be responsible for payment depending on what is required to make differential diagnostic determination. Reports are typically completed approximately 10 days after last in-person meeting if all records and questionnaires have been returned from other professionals.
What days are available? I am available on Saturdays for in-person testing, which is generally a significant convenience for adults (and their children) who are typically fully scheduled during the work/school week. I am available during the week for phone consultation and will return your call, same day, typically after 6:30 pm. My number again is (202) 341-3303, email dcneuropsych@icloud.com
